Permanent Clipboard Chrome Extension

The Permanent Clipboard Chrome extension will save you time!

There are countless times when I’m giving students descriptive feedback using the Comment feature in a Google Doc and writing the same phrase over and over again. Also, when filling out a Google Form to document descriptive feedback, I often repeat the same or similar phrases. I always wished there was a memory in both of these features similar to the text box in a Google Form.  Now, with Permanent Clipboard, this wish has come true!

  1. Visit the Chrome Store, search for Permanent Clipboard.
  2. Select ADD TO CHROME.

  1. A confirmation window appears. Click Add extension.

  1. After the extension appears, click on the icon.
  2. Click on Add new entry.

  1. I suggest skipping the Description and just type in the actual comment in the Content box.

  1. Open a Google Doc. Highlight something and click to make a comment.
  2. In the comment box, right click and select Insert from Permanent Clipboard.
  3. All of the pre-made comments will be there and you just have to choose the one you want.
  4. It will add itself to the comment box.

  1. Follow the same steps when filling out a Google Form in a paragraph question and your banked responses will be available.

This will save so much time!

**Big thanks to Whitney Baker (@MrBakerEducator) for sharing this Chrome Extension at EdTech Team’s Toronto Summit featuring Google Apps for Education. It really is a great tool for efficiency.
